I just had to re-post this gorgeous block .. isn't it lovely, it really did take my breath away!

This one is done by Green Fairy Quilts, but it is part of a larger Urban Deco Tutorial. I like the combination of black, yellow and pattern. Not too much pattern, but just enough.

Coco Chanel is quoted as saying "To always take off the last thing you put on so that you don't over accessorize." Perhaps this should be true of quilting, to take the last patterned fabric away, replace it with a solid so that the champion of the quilt is the craftsmanship, rather than a clashing of patterns. Food for thought!

Truly gorgeous, and so different from the dusty rose and pistachio green quilts ...

I am looking forward to getting my own sewing space back when we move house, perhaps then I will have more motivation to do more sewing ... 4 weeks to go, 4 weeks to go!

Do you know about Green Fairy Quilts?

I thought I would do a bit of a Blogtoberfest shout-out ... Green Fairy quilts doesn't have the most comprehensive range of fabrics, but they do have Jelly Rolls and pre-cuts that are really cheap. Especially if you are in Australia at the moment.

Paintbox update

I finally found a few minutes to sit down and make some more blocks for the Paintbox Quilt-a-long that I am meant to be doing. I am not quilting as much as I should be because I am busy doing writing and school stuff at the moment. My goal is to get it done by winter .. we are slowly edging towards winter and I am about 75% of the way through the "block phase".

I am WAY behind on where others are, but I will get there eventually! So here are my latest blocks, I love the colours (especially the middle one!) and I want to make a quilt full of these colours!

This is where I got the colours from .. look at these jelly strips! Aren't they gorgeous!

The colours come from the "Hello Betty Retro" collection from Chloe's Closet, a Moda Jelly roll. I recently got this jelly roll from Green Fairy Quilts, fast delivery, professionally packaged. Have you seen the Moda Bakehouse, a good quilting site to add to your RSS feeder.
