Starting with some lovely Japanese florals and some select alternative prints, Konstant Kaos will be rotating through some of the unique products that we make every few weeks.

We have Cube #1 .. top left hand side of the left hand cube stack. Can you see the Kaos star??

ARTifact: Created by Humans

I popped into Artifact in Clifton Hill to see what all the commotion on Facebook was all about. They don't have a blog just yet, but keep an eye out for them.

Essentially it is a gallery type of shop a bit like incubator except that they also have vintage and collectibles. Spaces are from $20 a week and the shop is open 5 days a week. Minimum contract is 3 months of retail space with 100% of sales going back to the crafter or collector.

They are located in Dummett Cres which is around the back of the Clifton Hill McDonald's. You might think, "they won't get the foot traffic that incubator does" .. but they do get cycle traffic and while I was there, many cyclists came through the shop. Next door to them, it looked like an antiques shop was being set up. This is old industrial area that is being re-developed with many cafe's located just short walk away.

Incubator has their stock in sterile cubes, Artifact uses antique display cabinets which gives the shop a homely feel.

Artifact are still in the process of building up their business, if you want to be a part of it, get in contact with them soon!

More Totes and stuff

In between finishing retail orders, I seem to be consumed by the prospect of making bags. I am looking intently at everyones bags, observing how they are being used ... are they well worn and loved or an occasional bag .... strange but true! I would love to do Nicole's bag course, but none of her dates fit into my schedule! So until then, I will plod along doing the best that I can ...

So here are a few more Totes that I knocked up over the weekend. I used the patchwork technique that I used on the last Tote and I had some skull love scraps that needed to be used up. I am quite focused on the waste coming out of my sewing room. I try to use every last scrap (especially as some of the fabric is very expensive).

I lined one of the bags in a bold red and the other in "bones" *giggles*
I have put the red one up on my etsy shop. I'll put the bones one up tomorrow.

And if you want to see any of my products in the flesh, Shop Sui have just taken delivery of some small pouches in various colours. Go and say hello to Sylvia!

I had to take a picture of what they look like ... Sylvia chose the fabrics from my swatch book and I made them up for her.
I love taking product photo's!
