So I unstitched the blocks and re-worked them and now much happier with how the purple quilt. Still not sure how to back it, but I do need to get my skates on and finish this one.
Sides still need trimming, but you get the idea ;-)

This second lot of purples works a lot better. If it had been me deciding whether to unpick all that work, I would have either forged ahead with the first selection for the sake of finishing it, or sticking it on the bottom of the pile for a few years!
Clever....very clever!
Love the re-worked quilt. I'm getting so inspired with ideas of what to do with some of my fabric stash!! Now I just have to get inspired to actually do some work.
