I started this a while back, and in a moment of "sewers block" I reached into to my project draw and pulled out a cot quilt I had started a while back and I decided to work on it for a few hours. It started off as an ambitious single bed quilt and then upon the news of another friend expecting, it became a cot quilt.
The orange and coloured gingham fabrics were second hand finds, the rest is brand new quilters cotton.
I stared off with the intention of doing coin stacks, but ended up just doing even pieces of fabric with my rotary cutter.
There is a rough design in there! I haven't decided on the backing fabric, but the edging is an orange and white stripe that I picked up at a quilters expo a while back. Hoping to get it finished in the next few weeks and then it will be off to it's new home with a new baby.
I really must find more time to do quilting, I love the creativity that is involved and the resulting product will hopefully be an heirloom.
Welcome to 2020

Quilting is the best. I love your colour selection Margaret, I think all babies should have bright colours surrounding them. I like the way you mix secondhand and new fabrics, I'm not brave enough to mix the two.
I'm really loving the citrus colours lately. You are my lucky blog follower this month! Contact me with your postal details.
